I can’t believe August is almost over. And honestly, I’m not ready for summer to end either. Summer is when I thrive. Give me warm mornings, beach days, long walks, and as much time outside as possible. Before I fully accept that September is coming, I wanted to share a few of the things I loved in August, from family days and baseball games to beach traditions and a couple of purchases I’m veryyyyy happy about.
Spending Time With Family
We recently went to Portsmouth, NH to celebrate my niece’s 9th birthday. We had lunch, birthday ice cream, walked around the downtown shops, and WON an escape room. It was fun to get out and try new things with my family. I’m really cherishing these moments.
WooSox Baseball
Chris and I took my parents to a WooSox game in Worcester this month, and it was such a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon together. Good weather, baseball, snacks, and time with my parents. Pretty hard to complain about that!
Annual Summer Beach Day with My Cousin
Every year, I have a beach day with my cousin and her kids. We usually alternate between Short Sands in York, ME, and Wallis Sands in Rye, NH. We’ve been doing this for years, and it’s always a tradition I love having.
This year we went to Wallis Sands, and I started a new book while I waited for them to get there.
It was a fun day catching up and searching for sea glass.
Running For The First Time In Years
Anyone who has experienced an injury or chronic pain that has taken them from doing something they love knows how it feels when you get to do it again. I’m not saying I’m going to become a runner, but it’s nice to know that just maybe I can run a trail every now and then.

Ulta & Abercrombie Hauls
Of course, not all of the things I loved in August were experiences. I also did a little shopping.
August was the month of restocking a few beauty favorites and starting to think about my fall wardrobe.
Abercrombie Haul
It’s crazy that summer is almost over, and it’s already time to think about fall. I don’t buy many clothes in the summer since I’m usually in athletic clothes, tanks, or dresses, so I tend to add a few new things in the fall.
So, I placed a little Abercrombie order this month to add a few things to my fall wardrobe. I wanted tops I could wear to work and outside of work, and I loveeee these. The fabric is silky and stretchy, almost like Spanx material. It kind of sucks you in, but still feels so good.
And the jeans? Obsessed. I’ve wanted both a really dark wash and cuffed jeans, so finding a pair that did both was a no-brainer. Even better, the cuff is actually hemmed, so there’s no rolling or constantly having to fix them.

Ulta Haul
I also placed an Ulta order during the 10x points multiplier event in early August, so I took the opportunity to stock up on a few products I already love.
For over a year now, I’ve used the Pureology Hydrate Sheer shampoo and conditioner. The Sheer version works best for my thin hair, and Chris is now obsessed with the smell because he uses it too.
The Verb Ghost Oil is another favorite. I use it through my mid-lengths and ends to keep my hair hydrated without making it feel heavy.
Of course, I restocked my COSRX snail mucin, too. I especially love this stuff in the winter when my skin gets dry, but honestly, I use it year-round.
The Ordinary peptide serum was the newbie of the order. I’ve been dealing with some skin texture lately, and a friend recommended it, so I’m giving it a try.
Looking back, the things I loved in August were mostly pretty simple. Time with family, summer traditions, getting outside, and a few fun purchases mixed in.
